Welcome To Michele's Wedding Page!

Creating memories for that Special Day

One popular dance that Michele recommends is the sultry Rumba.  The Dance of LOVE!  It is the most romantic and Sensual dance and it is a very popular dance with wedding couples.

Rumba is the smooth sophisticated cousin of Salsa and ChaCha. What a great dance to preform to as Husband and Wife!  The timing is quick, quick, SLOW, quick, quick, SLOW!

Here are some popular wedding songs that Michele recommends to use as a first dance as husband and wife:
  • Anyone At All — Carole King
  • I'm Your Angel —  R. Kelly and Celine Dion
  • Let's Stay Together —  Al Green
  • You Are So Beautiful — Joe Cocker
  • Wonderful Tonight — Eric Clapton

WEDDING DANCE TIPS

1.  Pick a Song that the Both of You Enjoy and Relate To
If the song is long, leave it to the discretion of your dance teacher to shorten the song.Your guests will get bored if the song is longer than 3 to 3 1/2 minutes.

2.  Practice, Practice, Practice
Once your given your routine, by your dance teacher, make sure that the two of you take the time to practice your routine. If your having a videographer tape your wedding, you want to be prepared and look the best you can!  Also, remember, this is YOUR DAY, don't worry if you make a mistake indancing your routine, because, quit frankly, nobody knows your routine, just stay on the BEAT and HAVE FUN!

3.  Practice In Your Shoes
Practice under the conditions that is close to what you will have on your BIG day. I've found that the Banquet Halls have been most accommodating with my Bride's and Groom's by letting us practice in the Room were the reception is being held. This gives me a great advantage in making my wedding couple more comfortable performing their first dance. They will definitely be more confident and there won't be any surprises!!

OTHER WAYS TO MAKE YOUR FIRST SONG SPECIAL

1.  I had a Bride who could sing, and she sang her wedding song which was professionally recorded in a studio, something that she always dreamed about doing.  It gave a very "personal touch" to her and her husband's first dance.  There wasn't a dry eye in the room when they preformed to their wedding song.  And of course I choreographed a beautiful Rumba with plenty of kissing!  What a great gift to give to your new Husband!

2.  Being a very creative person, I'm always looking for something special.  At a Bridal Show, I came across this Gentleman, Erik Balkey, a Singer/Songwriter. Erik has quite an unique idea: he will take your story and make it into a song — an expression of love with the perfect combination of heartfelt, nostalgic, touching and humorous. It's completely custom and is certain to make your priceless moment a timeless memory.

For more information contact Erik at www.customsongsbyerik.com.  What a wonderful idea!
